Head Start/Early Head Start

Welcome Parents!

Family engagement is a key component of the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs. We, at Miami-Dade County Public Schools, understand the important role of a parent, as their child’s first teacher. We focus on engaging families in their child’s education and building relationships with parents that support:

  • family well-being and positive parent-child relationships;
  • families as learners and lifelong educators;
  • family engagement in transitions;
  • family connections to peers and community; and
  • families as advocates and leaders.

Please check back frequently for more program information and resources.

2017-2018 New Parent Orientation

Did you receive an acceptance letter for the Head Start/Early Head Start program for the 2017-2018 school year?  If so, you may accept your offer by meeting with a family engagement staff member at the Head Start/Early Head Start school and complete the enrollment process.

After you arrange a time to meet with a family engagement staff member, bring in all remaining required documentation to secure your child's seat.

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet our Head Start staff and learn more about our program by attending one of our 2017-2018 New Parent Orientations!
